AIOP V2.0 Bluetooth issue

Hi Guys,

I';m new to quads & this forum but noticed others having same issue with AIOP V2.0 & Bluetooth module.
I read quite a few and it appears that this is common problem but I couldn';t see where anyone had found a fix.
I read that you can';t use Bluetooth & USB together as they conflict, but have seen nothing about locking up FC.
Issue- When I connect Bluetooth module (connected to Serial port0) & connect battery the ESCs don';t correctly initialise. GPS is also blocked.
If I disconnect Bluetooth then connect battery FC boots correctly & ESCs & GPS initialise. I can plug Bluetooth in after this and everything works OK.
I then tried just disconnecting +5V from Bluetooth & this allowed normal boot.
A installed a miniature switch in 5V line & turn on after boot & all is sweet. Simple fix but surely should not be required.
I can only assume that Bluetooth data lines if active can block normal boot of FC. I don';t think it is a MW V2.3 code issue but could be wrong.

Brewski I was never able to find a fix for the BT module issue. Like you, I would leave it unplugged or not powered until after the ESC have initialized and all was good. I have since removed the BT module and went to a 3dr 915MHz radio which doesn';t have the issues that the BT module has. Plus it has a much further range then the BT module, and connects much quicker. I bought the 3DR radio here:

Hi Badger,

Thanks for reply. As I mentioned I have got around lockup issue by installing a small switch on +5V line to Bluetooth.
The range is only about 50m so the 3DR sounds good for the price.
can it be used as a bridge to Bluetooth so I can still use Multiwii EZ GUI on my Galaxy3 phone as I currently do?

I don';t know. Maybe with the right adapter cable it may work. Just depends on if the phone can supply the power needed to run the receiver and if a driver is available to allow it to connect to the phone. It';s really made for a PC or a Mac. I use it with my laptop without any problems.
