Couple more questions

Been a while, took a break over the Xmas period and back with a question!

*Brought a Taranis X9d and currently have a couple of drones with Fly Sky recievers using PPM, 2 of which are micros so I don't see myself changing those recievers any time soon. What's the reccomended module that'll actually fit the back without any modding?

Bad Raven

The FrSky range inc the Taranis has a JR (Japan Radio) type module recess. (Though since JR have now stopped RC gear production maybe we should call it the FrSKy type module now!)

Bad Raven

If you bought (say) an iRange Multi-Module (search multi module on Banggood) and ran the latest OpenTX, you would be able to set serial to module and use OpenTX to set up the module with each model memory, so no module switch operation.

This is what I do for a number of protocols but have not needed to use the FlySky option. It is there in the list

I think this one will work iRangeX IRX4 Plus seems reasonable for less than £30.
I try :-)

Two-Six

I just bought one and its very cool.  An amazing thing.  It works really well.
Nighthawk Pro, Trex 450 L Dominator 6 cell *FLOWN*, Blade 450-3D, MCPX-BL, MCPX-V2, Hubsan X4, Seagull Boomerang IC .40 trainer, HK Bixler, AXN Clouds fly,, Spektrum DX7, Taranis, AccuRC

Thank you guys, I'll do some more research before delving.

I purchased two R-XSR recievers, they're tiny!
Struggling to get them to bind though.
Used the 3 wire connector instead of 5, I feel this may of been mistake number 1? (I'm lazy)
Uart 3 on the wizard, reciever, power, ground.

Now I've also just realised, that the recievers are the EU LGT version and my taranis has the international firmware Is this the cause?

ched

As far as I know the FW needs to match otherwise they wont talk to each other.
I try :-)

It's LBT, in Euro.  Yes, the firmware must match, and there is actually historically three types of firmware in Tx's, apart from versions within a type, as they introduced the Euro law in two stages (as the Euro idiots cocked up the first try).

You need the current Euro firmware to run your new receivers if they were Euro bought. But then all Worldwide (FAA) firmware will not work if you have other receivers.

You need to tell us exactly what you have, both all hardware and as far as you can check firmware, esp in Tx.

Cheredanine

As above, it is pretty simple to reflash your internal module to eu lbt firmware, just download it from the Frsky site, dump it and use the flash internal module option

So an update, had a google shortly after making the post & realised they don't mix.
Updated firmware, fail
Updated internal firmware, success
New model creation fail
Updated sd card content
Set up sticks, checked betaflight/setup & reset config, no movement in reciever

Running wizard x220,
Fr sky r xsr reciever
Taranis x9d plus
Managed to bind reciever but not getting any movement in betaflight
Next thing I'll check is updating betaflight on FC,  might be a bit outdated.
