Hi willumpie82 I think it is like below  ~~

status 0 = no gps detected
status 1 = gps detected no fix
status 2 = gps detected 2d fix
status 3 = gps detected 3d fx

Green Led not lit or flashing no gps
Green Led flashing = Gps detected and searcing for satellites
Green Led Lit = Gps Detected With Fix

The green light is lit ! At last. Again, I';m not entirely sure what I did right this time but I won';t complain too much.

Next step sonar.

Sorry to randomly jump in here but, I just flashed my board with MegaPirateNG and installed planner and now the leds on the board a-b-c- only the a led red one is blinking what do I do.

Gaza07

Hi djdavepace and welcome to the forum do you have a gps installed on your AIOP ?
if you do you should also see the green light flashing which means its searching for sats, if you dont have a gps theres not a lot of point to running megapirate, did you download the firmware from the forum, or did you download it from the megapirate wiki  ~~

You will only see the red light until you have a gps  ~~

The board came with Multiwii when I first powered it up just the b yellom light was on, and then Id arm the motors and all 3 lights would come on and the quad would respond now its just a blink red light and I tryed to re install MultiWii but it will not. So I went into arduino and opened multiwii and verified it and the eepropm has been cleared so i click the eeprom tab and verify and thats where the problem is, i dont know how to write in arduino, its asking me what type of multirotor and i typed quadx and it goes back to that same line so im not wording it right i quess. is there a way to copy someones eeprom page and put it in my multiwii in arduino?

Gaza07

Hi Dave I think your best bet is to read the manual here http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=411.0 and also download the firmware from here http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=376.0 the manual shows you how to upload the firmware using arduino and all the setting up is already done   ~~

I broke the USB connector some time ago,... My fault, I was just over exited,... So I decided to use the included GPS cable, make some modifications to it and used it to communicate true the FTDI port so I could play further with the pids. In the meanwhile i tried to order a cable from the seller on ebay but without success, also the communication with the seller is extremely slow,... Anyway after some months I got a different cable from the so called seller that connects to the S1-S3 port. I tried it but the light on the GPS stays green, does not flash and does not seems to look for a SAT. The original cable that was included with my quadcopter had a connector to the A0-A5 - A0 and A1 used for Attopilot port,... Any suggestion what the problem could be from somebody with common sense ?

Gaza07

Hi Nano71 which gps module have you got ? you need to connect the gps to serial port 2 so you have to connect it as follows, if you have the Crius CN-06 v2 or V1 the green light is for power only and doesnt indicate the gps status  ~~

Gps Tx ---- AIOP Rx2
Gps Rx ---- AIOP Tx2

If your running your AIOP with a external Ubec then you can take the power from the port, if not you will have to pick the power up else where

Hello Gaza07, I  got the Crius CN-06 v2, I just check the cable wiring from the cable I received from the seller and it is wired the opposite way,. I changed the Gps Tx to AIOP Rx2 and Gps Rx  to AIOP Tx2 and I have a GPS status 1. Thanks for the hint,. I have tried the position hold outside but it did not work,. I';m using mission planner 1.2.20 mav 1.0. I will try if I can manage to get position hold in a few hours. Untill then if anybody has some hints for me let me know.

When GPSSTATUS =1, do you get a GPSHDOP and a STACOUNT >0 ? If not, you do not have a "FIX" and you cannot "position" the copter

And, when you write "I have tried the position hold" do you mean "loiter"? If not, try "loiter" and report what happens

good luck

Hello Bergerac56, OK, I went outside and my GPSSTATUS =3
GPSHDOP =  4,45            SATCOUNT =7

I have tried Loiter again for a few minute today and it seems working now.
I reconfigured it in mission planner and used the turnning knob
on my remote and configured it to 1,2,3 stabilized and 4,5,6, loiter.
In my previous test I used the switch and it was configured to
1,2,3,4,5 stabilized and 6 loiter. I will test it tomorow again to make sure
that everything is okay because today it was bad weather to fly and test it
extensively,. Thanks Gazo07 and Bergerac56 for the hints.  ~~
