Hey.
Going to pick my rcTimer 450 quad up from post office today.
Have you guys got any good building tips for me, like where to put the batter. Do I need to keep the Rx away from anything. Ect ect.

mickyt

Hi Vidal,

i guess it all depends on what else you plan on putting on the 450 which flight controller your going to use, your esc';s you want to mount under the arm';s this is the best place for them, if you were to mount a naza fc this would normally mount between the two plates.

If using a kk2 board or similar then on top plate and in the middle, the battery from what I';ve seen is either mounted between the two plate';s again only if there is enough room or  underneath the bottom plate, i have seen them on the top plate but only if the naza flight controller was used.

Hope this helps a little  ~~
Ps ask for some pics of others set ups too  ~~
If someone throw's a stone at you throw a flower at them just remember to throw the pot with it.

Don';t use red thread lock if you want to get it apart again. Don';t ask how I know...

Gaza07

+1 on thread lock avoid using it   ~~

You mean avoid using the red stuff surely? The blue medium strength stuff is worth using on screws to stop them vibrating loose i think - at least i';ve been putting it on all my grub screws etc.

No I mean any thread lock I stopped using it even the blue as I struggled to get some fine screws out that were held with blue the result was the cap heads twisting off, since not using it I haven';t noticed things coming loose  ~~

That';s news to me - I';ve been using the blue medium strength stuff on all my motor screws, but only small dabs.

I';ve also been putting it on the M3 metal bolts that keep my flyduino warthox frames together.

Maybe i don';t need to bother?

If you have used blue threadlock and cant get a screw loose, hold the tip of a soldering iron on it for about 15-20 seconds. This remelts the threadlock and the screw comes out a treat  ~~

Gaza07

Nice tip Tony thanks  ~~
