IJN Umikaze - Imperial Japanese Navy Seabreeze -pre ww2 Japanese destroyer and subsequently a destroyer class, don’t ask me why, it ain’t like ZMX FinX23 2205 2600kv isn’t a mouthful without it. :hmm:

For light racer, hopefully over xmas but waiting for frame to be cut so could be jan

And Salem, to be a little specific I don’t have any problem with some racerstar stuff, their escs and usually sunrise rebrands, no problem there. Just the motors, they are cheap to buy but aren’t worth the money, if that’s a problem, then fair enough

Nothing much lately, a cheapo rainbow 800 wing for a project, thats all but built and some odds like servo horns and a few tiny motors, i seem to have a fascination with tiny brushless motors, but got some thing interesting due in the next couple of days, a rather interesting fixed wing plane...........

Saturday............

A £25 Premium Bond prize.

And I went and collected a scratch built scale WW2 plane. One that had been a magazine annual special plan issue, it being the designer built prototype featured on the cover and interior build article. Just starting to go over it now.

It has "Y" leads to Flaps and Ailerons and I want to use a channel per servo for more flexible control. As its high wing with all the fixing structure visible through the glasshouse canopy, the leads have been neatly cable tied out the way. Somehow without removing the canopy (as that would create far too much damage) I have to get at one tie which is out of hand and normal tool reach and cut it.

I'm contemplating using a heated end on a piano wire to melt through and so sever it............... This could go horribly wrong..............  :crossfingers:

A heatbead expansion board so my Printers Polyfuse will stop glowing everytime I try to print something.

and a rather vicious looking digital meat thermometer for the missus..... it looks more like some sort of evil torture/cattle prod which is why I WONT be going in the kitchen over xmas.

Reman

Not today, but this week.
I received the 900mm folding tricopter frame I ordered from Hobbyking. The arms on this are going to be cut down a little and built as a Y6 to replace the frame on my 450 hex camera ship. As the 450 stands its way too big to fit in my cars boot, So I'm looking forward to it becoming a fair bit more portable.

Just need to think about how best to mount the gimbel, undercarriage and rails so I can quickly separate them from the frame as a unit. If I can do this then I think both parts should fit pretty easily into a reasonable sized backpack. If I'm not missing anything I think electrically all I'll need to do is add an extra 5 pin plug/socket into the gimbel and cameras loom to allow me to get power and PWM signals to the gimbel, and video out from the camera.

I'll probably get it rebuilt just in time for the government to say it's too heavy to be a hobby flyers airframe and tell me I need to get some kind of feckin' operators licence !!! LOL !!!
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

I been looking at that all the time on banggood,it seems to be in the banner a lot and when i first saw it i thought how good it looks and rather nice specs.if i didnt build my own it would most likely be on the shopping list for certain.

Finally 6 weeks  for my ESCs to turn up.

Think I have everything now. Time to stop redesigning my next build in my head and just do it. Think I've been through ~10 iterations now  ::)

Well, the postman didn't deliver our road today (we often miss a Tuesday for reasons best known to them)   :(

But I did have three courier deliveries!   ::) ::)

Replacement frame for the Inductrix FPV+ that was humped up the rear by a 130S on Monday, fitted pre-stripped and prepared components and its tested and ready for Indoor tonight. Overnight from Wheelspin Models, THANKS GUYS!

HK sent an Inner lens (and other things) upgrade kit for the Quanum V2 now used by the kids in my club, as I'd done a quick field repair to the head-mag lens I had installed a while back with CA, and the vapour had fogged the lens (Note to self: Stupid bar Steward!). And some AA NIMH for the kids transmitters.

And from Overlander some Hubsan batteries again for the club, and a Rx battery for my 52 four stroke powered Westland Lysander.

I am rather gobsmacked....after the Xiaomi Mi taking an age to arrive.....but i ordered another drone from Gearbest on 01/01/18 and it arrived today, now thats fast....yes i know i was never going to order from them again, but they were the only people with it in stock!
I ordered the Hubsan X4 H216A, a tiny wifi GPS drone, yes i know they are pretty much toy grade but with a bit of care (not running the motors if they are gritted up) i should be able to fly it from my tiny back yard out over the field, i will use a wifi repeater to boost up the range from about 90m to about 200 ish. This little GPS with waypoints drone has an all up flying  weight of around 165 grams, will be interesting to see if it flies, and if so how well

Good, Eh?

What was the return address?  Both Banggood and GearBest are increasingly putting batches of what they know or think will be popular in bulk to UK agents, hence much faster delivery to purchaser.  I have actually had next day delivery from Banggood and this wasn't EU warehouse stock, it came from Manchester with UK post, no customs or Chinese labelling.

One of my circle got a medium near Phantom sized camera drone Hubsan from "China" in three working days last week.  (and they don't charge the exorbitant postage/packing HobbyKing do either!)

Before Christmas deliveries began another in my circle got a Banggood drone ordered China delivered from the New Forest area in two working days. (Tiny7 drone).

Bad Raven

My new HobbyKing bought 3D printer failed in a couple of days due to a faulty pulley. I could easily repair, but to test their support I sent pictures of the pulley and the claim was cleared 4/12/17.

At the same time as the claim was started (belt and braces approach) and without their knowledge I ordered a spare pulley pack and timing belts, which paid for items arrived mid December. This proved they had stock at the time of claim.

The Claim item arrived today 10/1/18. It obviously walked here.

Now I don't know about you, but IMO that extended length of time to get a simple small item to a customer who's product has failed due to faulty manufacture (and may well have had no alternative to repair) is totally unacceptable.

4 furibee 30a esc from gearbest, cost me £13ish in a flash sale, thonk they are littlebee clones, just as pictured on gearbest.
