Stepping down a 4S to run a gimbal?

I have a cheap GoodLuckSell 3 axis gimbal which works very well, very impressed with it. The problem is that the gimbal stops working after a few seconds running a 4S. the voltage limit is 16v, so I guess 16.6v was just too much for it. What would be the best way to simply drop the voltage down half a volt?

A super quick solution that I use on my whitesheep gopro camera ship is to plug the gimbal power directly into the 4s LIPO charging JST socket using header pins. But only across 3 cells /  pin 1 and 4.
Gimbal is powered directly from the lipo with no need for a ubec but you';ll have to discipline yourself not to accidentally  reverse the connector polarity when plugging in the gimbal.
Failing that use a 12v ubec.
