Crius AIOP V2 Wiring for UBEC, OPTO ESC & Servo Set-up

Hi guys,
Hope someone can help me.

I';m trying to understand and set-up a Crius AIOP V2 for a tricopter installation...

These are the questions I';m trying to find answers to;
Is using a UBEC preferred over ESC BEC ?
If I want to power the Extended Board must I connect power to the extend power connection ?
But, if I connect power to the extend power connection it will not power my servo ?
If I connect the UBEC to the motor/servo rail I will be able to power the servo, board and GPS etc., but not the extended board?
Can I take a 5v supply from the motor/servo rail to power a 5v camera?
Is it acceptable/possible to power board, servo and camera from a single UBEC?

I have an RC Explorer V3 on the way now, and I';m looking to make the build as clean and light as possible.
I';d like to go with the afro slim ESC';s I think, because they aren';t too much bigger than the arms.

Thanks in advance for any answers, support or advice.

I don';t have an extend board but I have powered my tricopter crius aiop + gps + bluetooth + camera+transmitter from the same external turnigy  3a ubec without issue.

I just power the AIOP through the external power pin , leave the 2 pin jumper off , and it powers itself + the gps board + bluetooth + receiver. I have one of the esc';s connected to the servo rail +ve so that the tail servo is powered from it.

I don';t think i';d want the same bec powering the tail servo and everything else as I had noise issues with this before.

Also wouldn';t power the tail servo from an affro esc as there 5v becs are very small and would probably overheat.

Hi guys,

I';m a bit of a newbie also and have similar issues with power.  I have a crius AIOP v2 with the extended board which is connected to the serial port. When I plug the BEC into the external power pins with the jumper removed, I get power to the board but not the GPS or the external board. am I supposed to get power from somewhere else? I was under the understanding the whole board should get power this way. I only get power to the gps if I put the jumper in and feed power to the external board.

What am I doing wrong?
Should I do away with the external board and rewire the gps differently?

Here is a pic
Thanks for any help in advance :)

I don';t think that is the external power pin . I use the opposite end of the single row of pins.
