I ventured out to my hallowed field today, Wasp 250 in hand.  Inspired by the antics of Jab & JT, I attempted to carve a course of my own!  Actually, following the nettle bed around this field could be a serious challenge, but I must sort out the buzzer, or i will lose this thing!

Slight annoyance, I got to the field, plugged it all in, no video out!  Restarted, tried again, still no vid.  So frustrated, I returned to base, turned it all on, hey presto video back again.  So I got back to the field again turned it on, no video!!!!  Argh!!  So I picked the thing up, wiggled some cables, then it came back.  Damn loose jst plug!

Oh well, so I eventually got airborne, and noticed how awful the fpv camera was.  I had to fly nose down to see the ground!  Actually, once I'd sussed this out, it was ok, although getting amongst the greenery was hairy to say the least, as half the time I just got very dark images in the goggles and just had to trust to mother luck to get through.
Watch out for the 'epic' recovery at 2:12!!

Three brand new carbon's gone. :-(  Phil's gonna love me!

Capture cam is my marvellous new DYS 1080p camera, that is shaping up well.  She looks a little like a grand piano perched on the front deck of the Wasp, but TBH, she hardly notices the thing performance wise.

The extra footage was captured on my trusty but ageing Sony HDR TG7VE Handycam (I've had for the last 5 years) in AVCHD.

tree surgery  that crash at 5:40 sounded rough!

Point and click.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

Flying over those nettles and sporting only a T-shirt....... :blink    You';re a brave man!

If you are going to be flying around trees and stuff a lot(and I assume you are ) I would switch to plastic props, they have that little bit of give that others don';t, I';m using HQ 5x4 plastic ones and they are great, you get a good few chips but minis don';t seem to mind that lol.

Hands0n

The HQ "plastic" props have glass fibre reinforcement also - I read recently.

Lol!  Nettles, well used to them!

Yes, the carbon';s were new on, I normally use the HQ plastics, but will probably use the middle ground reinforced ones for normal.  THe carbon';s are good, and they were more resistant to run of the mill cartwheel type crashes, but the problem is if you know you are going to crash, the sensible thing is to cut the throttle, save the props, but then you don';t get the recovery shots either!
Ah well, what';s a few plaggy props compared to an afternoons 250 fun eh?

Nub:  Sounded worse than it was!  Still made me wince tho.

If you mean HQ carbon reinforced ones, they are crazily brittle and explode on contact with just about anything...

kilby

I abandoned the carbon reinforced ones last weekend after losing 3 when I pancaked into long grass.

Put the plastic HQ ones one and have only had to replace one and that was only after my fifth rugby post encounter (all at speed)
Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

Hands0n

PMSL, I bought a shed load of carbon reinforced a few months back when (a) they were getting a bit rare and (b) I was going through them like Epsom salts!

Then I took delivery of a set of RCT carbon fibre and haven';t (a) had a crash or (b) the props survived all I';ve thrown at them so far!!

Bah!
