Has anyone found a way to attach external LEDs to the AIOP arm and GPS lock indicators so they can be placed at another location on the quad?

No... but I did make a DIY light pipe out of some clear plastic rods that worked ok. I never finished it as I opted for the full arm LEDs option instead which can be configured (if you are patient) to indicate these things.

Before my Crius quad flew off, I purchased an APM 2.5 hockey puck GPS with a stick to mount it on. The thing has a little light on top that blinks red and turns green when it gets a connection. You have to wire the molex connector to it but it worked great. BTW the flyoff was not GPS related. I had some loiter speed setting set to low and the wind took it away.
