Crius AIOP V2 Board not working with New Firmwares?????

I have the Crius AIOP V2.0 controller, gps and extension board.
I tried to load in the newest firmwres, 3.1.5-R2 and 3.0.1R4
I also tried other 3.0 version and even though they state for the AIOP v2 board they dont work.

The problem with the new version is when I try to engage the motors the Do Not Engage with either stick!
Then I loaded firmware v3.0.1 R3 and it works backwards. To engage the motors the right stick (elevator) works as the throttle. So on the transmitter I changed from mode 2 to mode 1 to correct the issue.
But the problem lies when I turn on my Taranis transmitter it sounds the warning of throttle, since throtle is now considered on the right. but in mode 1 the throttle is on the left. Is there any way to fix these firmwares to work propery like the older version???
I would prefer to leave my mode in mode2 not 1....
Thanks.......

My first guess i that the channel mapping isn';t correct either at the receiver or in the firmware. You must make sure that the connection at the receiver match what the Crius thinks they are. You also need to set in the firmware what each channel maps to. This determines the connection at the receiver. For example mine are RPTY on channels 1234 respectivly. So in the firmware I set that way and then make sure I plug the proper wire into the proper channel at the receiver.

If the throttle is hooked to the pitch channel then at the transmitter the right stick will be the throttle which isn';t good because it centers itself, meaning the throttle will be at half throttle all the time.

I wouldn';t change the mode of the transmitter at all. I also wouldn';t reverse channel at the transmitter because you can tell the Crius to reverse the channel if needed. For example when I first set up the Crius board the roll channel needed to be reversed because when I moved the stick right the hex went left. So in the full parameter list each channel has a configuration section labled RC1 to RC10. In each section there is parameter that allows you to reverse the channel by setting the value to -1.

Got to go because I am at work. I will post more later. Hope this helps.

 I';m using mission planner to set the adjustments to the firmware.
I did not see anything to assign the channels.
I did set the reciever properly to the board, as it worked fine with the old v2.8 firmware.
But not sure where the settings are in the mission planner software.

Should i be using something else to make the settings?

In your position I would try Peter King';s firmware and config files, when I was flying Crius fc';s I never had any problems with his setups.

I did that already, this is the problem. There are so many firms there but not enough info on the correct version to use.
And which program to use for the adjustments, I';m guessing must be mission planner.

The easiest way is to go in to the config / mandatory hardware / Radio Calibration screen and move your sticks around. Note which stick moves which slider then just swap the plugs around in the receiver or at the Crius until your stick movements match what you see on the screen.
I loaded my Crius V1 using the new flashtool. It was a really painless 2 minute job and apart from a little PID tuning the copter was up and flying in minutes.

That new flash tool offers to firmwares for the crius v2
i tried them both and could not engage the motors.
I treid both stick all directions with no luck...

As pheasant_plucker stated, it is very important that you insure your channel setup is correct and that a radio calibration has been done, as well as a compass and accelerometer calibration or you will not have much luck getting the motors to start.

I was not able to use the pre-compiled versions because my channel config seems to be different then what it expects. So I always compile my own firmware.

I change apm_config.h and what ever files I need to make  it match my setup then I upload it and then run Mission planner and do the calibrations. Once that is done I insure my channel are working correctly in the Radio Calibration screen and if required I reverse any channels that are not right. after all that then I test to insure that the stick movements give the desired results.

;) thank you for your replies.
i used the flash tool and uploaded the firmware 3.0.1 r4. i discovered that in the flash tool there is a drop down choice box to select different type of transmitters. i used the wii choice and it worked. when i loaded MP the transmitter was working. then i read you need to do the 3 or 4 calibrations 1st before trying to engage and i did that and they worked out perfect. the motors engaged and i have a new firm version installed.
they only dissapointment, i guess since i';m not very familiar wiht how the settings work. was to set the 6 different flight modes on the taranis transmitter so there would be 3 or 4 switches to use when selecting the flight modes. i searched on line and was only able to find 1 video that showed how to setup 6 flight modes. the problem is that they all work on ch5 and there are like 2 switches to use for 6 different modes. it makes it very confusing and hard to learn and remember. I thought it would be easire to set the transmitter for the modes but i guess its another problem on its own.

What make of transmitter are you using? it can be a bit confusing if you are not familular with mixing channels

I have looked but can not find the thread that had a link to an RC forum with a number of taranis downloadable set ups. That may help, if i caul find it :(

Any one?

Paul
Only when one looses sight of your toy does FPV become fun and against legislation already in place.

:banghead: :banghead:Sorry didnt obviously read the post well enough, as mentioned if you can get someone else with a taranis who has flight modes setup he should be able to copy you the setup or tell you how to do it.

On the taranis thread or RCgroups is bound to have what you want there is over 33000 posts
