Not 100% but think you can pull the casing off a male and turn it into a female. Could be wrong

One has pin connectors one had socket connectors   
A Y lead has two female and one male. They are all connected together so it should work

Or just buy two cheap servo extension cables, cut in half and make one up :)

sure the female is the same as a male but with a sleave around it and pins added which can be removed..... i think

no the pins cant be removed

its easy enough to make one up but you have to invest in the crimper first, worthwhile investment in this hobby

yeah only in places in the rc industry ... that is actually a female connector ( male / female tends to be based on the actual metal pin/socket not the shape of the plastic housing)  Though don';t look at rp-sma ... that does my head in :)

Go look at the Dsub male connector, or vga male connector or in fact just about any male connector

Electrical connections are "generally" gendered based on the shape of the electrical contact.
