Has anyone ever tried upgrading their Hubsan X4 to the camera version?

It looks like it might be a snip to do for just £17 with a 2mp camera module and shell from bang good.

I guess the main pcb is exactly the same on both models.  :hmm:

Not exactly, but I have managed to downgrade haha.

The camera board is totally independent of the main board, aside from power - find +/- pads on the main control board, solder the camera board to it. The other thing to take into account is that the H107C has slightly wider motors than the H107L - they will not fit into the H107C shell.
TBS Discovery + ghetto printed gimbal, HovershipMHQ 1 & 2, QAV250, Turnigy Talon V2, chinese Alien500 thingie, 3d Printed Tricopter, Bix 3, Flyingwings.co.uk FalconEVO, Venturi EVO 1+2, Hornet Racing Wing, Radjet800 (by the dozen)... Permanent sucker for FPV, and lots and lots of OpenLR

Went ahead and got myself the 2mp camera module, a 107c shell and a couple of extra batteries just cos they were such good value. And at a couple of quid for the shell, it';ll either work, not work or I';ll make it work.

If it won';t work I';ll just Velcro the  board to the underside with a little plug for powe, then I can just rrrrip it off and bung it on the big quad whenever I like.

Starting to like banggood a lot now.

The X4C uses 8mm motors whilst the X4 uses 7mm so the motors won';t fit in the new shell.

I suggest you order some from Micro Motor Warehouse as they supply the best motors you can get for the X4';s.

These ones should do the job... http://micro-motor-warehouse.com/collections/all/products/cl-0820-17
