Is the whole gun printed ? even the barrel  and firing mechanism ? I don';t really know much about this 3d printing but if they can make a working gun its getting a bit scary

As the title says its just the lower receiver, which is basically just the housing for all the working parts are. The barrel and gas piston and cylendar, breech, breach block, recoil rod and springs, firing pin, trigger etc will all be metal.

I probably only know because they were my bread and butter for 13 years mate. I had very crunchy meals back then!!

For now..it seems that those guys want to do all by 3D printing. I know that looks crazy but everyday there is a new engineering material and if it can be used for 3D printing or similar it is really scary...

I am very interested in build myself as much as I can of what I need and certainly I will end up sooner or later to buy a 3D printer and a little CNC...but first I need to find a larger house . However I can assure you that I would never ever have imagined to build guns...it is really madness...

Yeah, the worry with this stuff has been around for a while. Silly really.

All other components of a gun (in the US) can be obtained without licences, over the internet, no questions asked. The lower receiver is the bit you need paperwork for, and you can 3D print them. This caused a bit of a stink a while ago when a load of anti gun tunnel vision idiots realised you could print lower receivers, not realising that you could machine or mould one, and have been able to for the last what, 60 years or so for simple CNC.

Its a bit like the reaction with the drones, people want to moan about something and are totally blind to the real situation hah.

Oh well, If I wanted to make an AR lower receiver, id machine it.
