Hi all,

Here is my flight I did the other morning before work, it was a beautiful morning and perfect conditions for a quick fly to set me up for the day.

This was shot pure FPV using some new Skew Planar antenna I have just got which are amazing! they have given me so much more confidence.

Some nice shots of the Evo too

FPV Quadcopter Frost morning flight, Best viewed full screen and at 720p resolution.

One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Thank you all,

Great site to fly around and its HUGE, its an old RAF Airbase that shut in the 50';s I think. I have been tasked to reproduce a take off and landing scene there for the group that looks after the site as there is no footage of aircraft taking off or landing there just loads of stuff already on the ground. Should be fun :) but would be alot easier with a Blixer or easystar etc

My setup is...
Rabbit Flight controller 1.22Fw
11.1v 2200 mAh
9x4.5 props
1000Kv motors
Spekrum DX6i with 6ch reciever
Fatshark Atittude SD goggles with HT and Rx
5.8Ghz ??mW TX
2xSkew Planar Antenna
530mm prop to prop
Crocolis Extreme HD Cam used for flight video and FPV output
1.2Kg flight weight

Thanks for posting the specs JAB I also fly with rabbit flight controllers and find them very good also running the v1.220 firmware and find it the best version yet  ~~  :beer2:

The Rabbit has not let me down yet. I was using Fw 1.203 for so long (thats what was loaded when I got the board) and I never found any problems but then around september there was a rush of updates from 1.208 to 1.220 so I thought I better get in there and see what all the hype was about. Well instantly found the quad to be more stable at high speed but the height hold had become more erattic but that was because I was hitting the setting while still going up or down, I have found if I stay at the height I want for more than 1 second and then hit the setting it stays quite well at that height. I do have the old Baro on mine.

Gaza07

Yea your supposed to be already stable before engaging it, for the sort of flying you do the old baro is probably good enough as it will hold height just not quite as good as the newer ms5611 baro, the problem is the new baro is just to expensive it costs around £30 and you still have to fit it yourself  ;)

JAB1a

£30 is quite abit for something you still have to do all the work for and can potenaly destroy your FC if your not concentrating....Im sure it will improve things but I dont use HH enough to justify it.
On a side note I might build myself a Tricopter to use as a test bed and stunts and for just a good fly about.

Gaza07

I agree its a bit over priced for what it is, Ive never had a tricopter for some reason ive never fancied one  :hmm:

If you can get a shot flying along the runway as if you were following an aircraft I might be able to put in a Spitfire ;)

The problem is that the footage cannot have the fisheye distortion.  Is it possible to change the lens?

Gav

Looked like you';re having fun with fpv.  Nice relaxing vid.

I';ve replaced a damaged lens on a friends GoPro before.   Just need a  tool with a firm grip on the lens assy and a careful bit of heat to release the glue on the lens thread.  You can get a different lens without the fish eye if you wanted to.  I quite like the fisheye view though.

What an offer, thank you but Im afraid I do not have any other lenses, Im using the Crocolis Extreme HD cam which you can not change the lenses unless you stip the camera down to bare minimum (loosing case) which I am sure would shorten its life on my quad (crash damage).

I will be getting some footage together and I will post it here to see what people/you think can be done.

I wish I had the new GoPro Hero3 Black edition! I will continue to dream  :-/
