Just been nosey here and was wondering what everyone here dose for a job? 

I work as a Cabinate Maker working mainly with pine, but we have done work with Oak.  Its a good line of work when ever I want new furniture at home  ~~

Nice work there as was mentioned in the chat room I am a dock worker at the port of felixstowe  I drive and operate heavy plant not the most exciting job but it pays the bills, I best get on with some work as we speak lol

Used to be a software engineer for 10 years and I am now a ';Technical Consultant/Sales Engineer'; for a software tool that is used in safety critical devices, such as planes, nuclear etc.

It is basically a model based design environment that automagically generates flawless code.



Time served manufacturing apprentice, through CADCAM, and now an I.T. project manager, last project completed - new major factory facility - local, current project - another major new factory facility - international.

I';m fully and totally retired but still don';t have enough time to do all the things I want to do, I still need to sleep and eat which entails shopping and other secondary functions, I don';t know how I found time to go to work !!   :shrug:

I own a company that designs and build electromechanical controllers for high end movie cameras. Its just me, I do all the designing and all the building. I love it, its great.


I was a Data and Fiber Optic Engineer but after many years on the road only home weekends and missing the kids growing etc etc and some health issues we decided to reverse rolls so now I am a house husband :hmm: (never really liked that phrase) and the misses brings home the bacon.

She works in local education with special needs children.


I';m a IT 3rd and 4th line support contractor... I support email systems and other Systems...  Started MR while I was away from home in NI... Off to Leeds later this week for 2 months..

Yeah, I saw you were involved with camera equipment.  Don';t blame me, I hate working at higher res.  Such long render times...  Give me good old SD TV to work on  :laugh:


Alexa rules the roost. Those red camera people are petchilant children, the Alexa user community are a more discerning and sophisticated sort. Like me. :-D

Yep, thats very impressive stuff. Especially the motion control rig.
There was one in the company where I used to work in Shepperton studios but it was for models so was really slow.

I run a company selling all kinds of film and tv equipment including some dodgy old focus controls and motors, oh and I own a RED camera  :nananana:


I design gas and electric fires mainly for the leisure home industry but also branch out into other products, my latest is a portable fume extractor for welding.
I also do most of the support documentation and illustration, keeps me busy!
