hmm, added a few bits but the postage went up so removed them. Goggles ordered.

I was going to use an old portable dvd player in the field but this solution should overcome the problem of reflected sunlight which plagues me on all lcd screens I try to use outdoors (smartphone, tablet, laptop etc) and presumably offers some impact protection to boot. Saves me making a dedicated case to attach lipo and rx to.

Well from what I can see you can use it without the GPS side of things.

However you also have to remember the average IQ of so many of the hobbling posters.

Do I need a battery to fly this electric plane etc

Can someone recommend a battery to power this + video Rx (RC305) . And how long before it needs recharged.

Cheers

I can';t tell you how long it will last, but my setup of an  RC832 and Eco Goggles is powered by  2 x Turnigy 9XR Safety Protected 11.1v (3s) 2200mAh 1.5C Transmitter Pack - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=45930. Had no problems in testing.
A new way of buying and selling RC Gear.

Mine arrived today (tracking number was bloody useless)

I won';t have time to assess them for a while, has anyone else got theirs and willing to report on initial findings?

I got mine over the weekend ... not really done much since I don';t have vtx vrx or camera :) ... That said the instructions looked fine and as promised the video doesn';t cut with no signal ... I fired a dvd through it and the resolution looked fine but I didn';t have the Fresnel fitted.

Anyone know of something similar for a 7" screen? I have a nice 800x480 seven incher but it';s hard to view properly when it';s sunny

Mine turned up but didn';t get looking at it till last night, not much use without a camera (vtx and rx but no camera yet)

it';s fairly obvious chickens is the useless one, unfortunately I have to have the.lens so close to.me my nose is basically touching the.lens :(

Went to jury rig the screen to my vRX and mobius complained of low battery but I did get a picture up. Mobius on charge now so looking at assembly.

What';s a good glue to use on these materials? I think it';s polystyrene body and typical foam bits, hard plastic (ABS?) screen, plus the elasticated headstrap (though they also provide metal screws which probably won';t hold/last long in polystyrene).

I used double sided tape to hold the foam sections into the side cutaway

CA to attach the tabs to the Fresnel lens holder and scotch.magic tape to hold the lens.itself.

Currently the shell is held closed with rap straps.

CA didn';t agree with the shell or the foam, though I';m told that UHU Por works well

I tried double-sided but the strips roll off it too easily, don';t think it';ll last like. Quick goodle research suggests UHU POR to be what I need for those bits, yeah. It might also do for the headstrap.

The monitor could, in theory be left unglued I guess. A larger screen (without it';s bezel) might be an upgrade in the future. I';m certainly not going to glue to the two mask halves together, posties rubber bands will do just fine though I got some rapstraps too.  ~~
