CRIUS AIOP v2 2.2 to 2.3 update

just attempted to update from 2.2 to 2.3 on my CRIUS AIOP V2 flight controller - no issues at all but come to link up to the MultiWiiConf.exe, no luck.  I am connecting via USB COM10.  It is reading the gyros and accelerometers no problem and displays the graph but the artificial horizons and virtual quad diagram is not working or updating on screen?? Also I';m not able to set the options like ARM ANGLE HORIZON GPS etc.
I am using the appicationwindows32 MultiWiiConf.exe  as the 64 doesn';t work.

went back to 2.2 and I could hook up no problems (again using  appicationwindows32 MultiWiiConf.exe  )
Not a huge issue as I will just use 2.2, but anybody had this prob?   I checked 2.2 and 2.3 config files side by side to check no obvious lines I forgot to comment out.

Also anyone got good PID numbers for 300 sized quad - good for aerobatics - cheers!

cheers

barneyg

If you try using the 2.2 config tool with multiwii 2.3  bad things happen.  Use the wipe eeprom sketch then reload the 2.3 firmware.  You will lose all your settings so Back them up first.

fruitsalad

dont grow up,just buy bigger toys!!!!

Gav

I';ll try the wipe sketch and winguitomorrow cheers then I will fire up a win xp pc I';ve got lurking in the garage and try running off that instead of my win7 lappy. See if that works.

tony

tony

atomiclama

Maybe be daft for asking but you are using the 2.3 config with the 2.3 FC arn';t you?

I';m using 2.3 on that board with no problems with the 32 bit version of the 2.3 config.
Wasdale X, Ow that hurt

Gav

Yeah using the 2.3 config.  Probably a comms thing and will work fine on my older xp system.  Will try laters

Gav

OK hands up I found the problem.  Operator error

I tried wiping the mem and reflashing with 2.3 - no change.  Used a known working USB cable too.

fired up Win XP pc and re did everything - no change.

Clicked on Calibrate Accelerometers and WOO HOO everything spring back to life.

DOH!!!!!!

trying out the Bluetooth dongle now and SmartPhone app  MULTIWii EZ-GUI.

looks good!

Forget the official releases of MW V2.3. The main programmer EOS Bandi has latest versions including Missions & Land on his site latest EOS Bandi navigation firmware 2-3 Navi b7 & matching Win GUI 2.3 Pre10 for Navi b7. http://eosbandi.com/downloads/
I am running these successfully after a few hickups (like not clearing all of the 4096 bytes of EEProm in ATMEL 2560),
& works well with EZ-GUI. Just touch on the map to plan your mission (delays & height can be set for each waypoint) select Mission on TX & sit back for the ride

Yeah I may have a go with that one day matey, but for now I have everything switched off and use it as an acro controller only with auto level just for landing lol.  Sending my quad on a mission has never really appealed to me to be honest -  I think I scratched that ';itch'; when my Brother had a Big Trak for Xmas in the 80';s and sent it on a mission to delivery an apple from the kitchen to the Living room

Even if you don';t want to plan missions it is pretty cool just dropping a waypoint on EZ-GUI Google map by touching screen on your phone & quad goes straight to it & hold a timed position. You can even add RTH to the waypoint.
Other features such as auto land, Fencing (where quad will not fly outside a perimeter), Circle,  Advanced Headfree & several more make this MW 2.3 Navi b7 definitely worth a look

Cheers..B :beer2:
