Naze32 yaw on throttle punchouts

I have a full naze board on a 230mm Mini H quad and when I do throttle punchouts even small punches, the quad will rotate around its yaw axis.
I';ve twisted the power cables together to minimise electronic and magnetic interference but still the yaw rotation occurs when I punch out.

Is there a way to minimise the rotation,  aside from moving the controller away from the interference (as it';s on a mini quad so I don';t have the luxury) or using an external mag?

its most probably a bad motor and esc try calibrating your esc again and have look at your motors if you got good quality motors see if your bearings are fine  if they are and you no the esc are calibrated you may have 1 motor not spinning as fast (are faster) than the rest if this is the case you could do a yaw ( rudder ) throttle mix on your tx to counter react this

i had the same thing on turnigy motors and Afro esc all is now good on same esc and sunsky motors

shazzy

Running new sunnysky motors with properly calibrated and checked via the motor start up option in the Baseflight software.  It was the first thing I checked!

I';ll look into a throttle rudder mix as a last resort but the severity of rotation is quite bad so wanted to solve the problem at it';s root. Cheers tony

See if it improves by putting expo on your rudder on your tx - it could be you are unknowingly inputting enough rudder to cause the problem - I';m assuming that you';re mode 2. I had the same problem with loops on my planes I just couldn';t get them straight (I fly mode 1).

you could try swapping the motors to the opposite rotation, see if it changes the yaw direction
would prove if it was the motors
if stays the same, do the same with the esc, as that would them rule it all out mate

Cheers

barneyg

it could also be a slight twist to the arms/frame of your quad

Would have thought in a stable hover there would be rotation or even on a slow climb but on my mini it';s not apparent.

It is only seen when I do a quick climb which is reminiscent of my APM 2.5 where I didn';t keep it far enough away from interference from escs and battery etc and had to resort to an external mag to solve the problem.

Will try other suggestions that everyone has suggested to see if anything helps! Thanks everyone!

Phil, how do you disable the compass?

you just dont tick it in baseflight

have you got a pic of your config screens in baseflight, that would help for us to check if anything odd was set ?

Phil
Many Thanks

try to connect to the gui while main batt connected and tx turned on, see how your yaw (also pitch and roll) behave around the middle and on slight move of the othe axis: what happens to yaw when applying throttle, you can trim/sub trim your rc to behave better, you can state in cli the mid position othe than 1500... i set it to 1510.
if your sticks drift from the middle you can add deadband, there is a deadband param on cli for roll/pitch and one fow yaw.

also see what happens with/without compasd
