TBS discovery wont takeoff with larger battery.

Im running a tbs with 2212 1000kv motors,30a simonk esc,apm 2.5,8x4.5 props
When I have my 3s 4000mah battery in will just come off floor and start flying backwards.But when I put a 3s 2200mah battery in it flys fine.Any suggestions on settings for apm to compensate for this.

Sounds like you need 4S.

That';s exactly the spec I have with mine and it flys fine.  Get a good 10mins flight time on 4000mah 3s. Sounds like you need to tweak throttle mid position in your mission planner/apm parameters to me.

Exactly the same spec as yours. Rctimer 2212 1000kv motors. Rctimer 30a simonk ESCs. Rctimer 8x4.5 carbon fibre props (did have graupner 9x5 but damaged one and couldn';t justify the cost anymore for very little difference in flight). 3s4000mah. Fully laden with gopro, fpv cam, fpv vtx, minim osd, 3dr telemetry, video switcher etc etc.

I just put my gopro on front  and it now flys stable but very sluggish on turns what do I need to turn up to make more responsive.

You should run autotune. Set it up on a spare channel. 7 or 8. It takes about 5 mins of dancing around a bit and you will find it will be much more responsive. You need to be in a relatively large area before you start.
