DJI S800 and Zenmuse My thoughts

Well thanks to Dave from the ArduForum I';ve got the Octo on rails. It';s fully locked in and just cannot get any better now.
But whislt waiting for batteries to charge I had a play with the DJI S800 with the Zenmuse Gimbal.

Ok the S800 is a really nice machine but I';ve got something that flys just as well and looks just as good for a third of the price.

But that Zenmuse gimbal.... You';ve got to see it in the flesh to really understand just how good it is. It';s silky smooth, really well thought out and the performance is untrue ! I tried like hell to get a wobble on the camera but failed (repeatedly)

Perhaps you should expect that from a £2500 gimbal but is it value for money - Er NO. Its well overpriced, realistically its about £900 of kit, But is it worth £2500 - Hell yes, its overpriced but its by far the best gimbal I';ve ever seen and for that worth every penny.

When powered down the Gimbal is all floppy, it turns in all 3 axis without any resistance, cant even feel the bearings turning. Power it up and the direct drive kicks in. Everything goes solid. Now there';s no motors as such. Just a magnetic field somehow acting on a bell to create movement, its really quite spooky, I was expecting at least a stepper motor but no - there';s not even any gears !

Truly Stunning and worth a real close look for anyone that is serious about photography. - The downside is you need a Wookong to drive the gimbal even though it has its own 3 axis IMU.

There is a video on the forum that was made by Martin from BYOD with exactly the same setup and I haven';t seen video as solid as his was on any copter it has to be a market leader at the moment  ~~

So when you getting one Mark
