My new hobby, Nicotine vaping lol

aye that looks like a nice starter kit better than those crappy CE4';s anyways, and its a EVOD 2 tank which has dual coils but its not pyrex which is a shame, i';m not to sure how it performs but i would imagine it';ll do the job nicely. personally i found the air flow a bit tight on my m8';s EVOD (older single coil version) but that can be sorted out by buying another tank with some adjustable airflow if you want to.

hope your old man takes to it, good luck.

anything that has Snoop Dogg';s name on it will probably suck  and if it';s what i';m thinking it it is it doesn';t vape, it burns, very few portable ones work well.

I presume being based on the EVOD it can be upgraded with all the same bits in the future? Like a perspex tank and other things if required. Hopefully that will keep the cost of maintenance down as well.

i';m not quite sure how interchange things are between the tanks, but they';re not to expensive, the glass version though i';m sure if it has dual coil i would have to check will cost you about £7.

I';ll risk stating the obvious, but spares, SPARES, SPARES

You really need spares, especially if your only tank/attie dies at 6pm on a Friday, with no hope of replacement until Monday afternoon (unless you have a vape shop nearby). It is murder, and likely to see him at the petrol station buying fags/tobacco in short order  :o

it really depends if you want something that truly vapes, have a look on youtube for some reviews and check out the f*ckcombustion forums.

I started off with the evod "starter kit" to be honest it';s very basic. If I knew what I know now I would have just gone and bought a tank and battery separate.
To start off I would get a vision spinner 2 battery and a protank 3 mini. I found out of all the tanks I';ve tried from the evod to the aspire Nautilus, the protank 3 mini was the best all rounder. All depends how deep you want to get info it though. You can get evod 2 kits which IMO is a better start than the evod 1.

nub

the Kanger IPow battery is just the same as a vision spinner, they';re both basic VV devices, mah may be slightly different i don';t know, but you would be able to stick a protank 3 mini on it if you wanted.

Just got my starter kit through. Got the Evod 2 with Ipow battery. A bit disappointed that there is no manual but hey. anyone recommend any good spares?

its anyways handy to have a spare atomizer if you didn';t get one with the kit, just incase.

Hi
I';m a bit overwhelmed with all the options you get for these , and to be honest I don';t think I want  anything that can be customised/changed/modded as I never will . Just something simple to replace my 5 a day habit.

Is there any cigarette shaped vaporisers that  that come in a 20 size storage box and can charge off a usb/car charger. Simpler the better and a link would be very helpfull.

It is all a bit much isn';t it?!

Your best option is to find a local vape shop. There you can speak to someone who';ll be able to talk you through your needs. Sending links is not really going to help unless you first read up on vaping and terminolgy etc.

The vast majority of the cig type ones are utterly useless.

EVODS are ok, not great, but ok, building is really for tinkerers, that was born from dripping, and to be honest, hardly any benefit from it, compared to some pre made one';s.

The Aspire BDC tank is very similar to the evod, and a good one, and cheap, stick that on a standard ego type battery, and is perfect for casual use.

It really depends , personally I prefer the Kangertech pro tanks, especially the aero mega, and do like the Innokin stuff.

It';s better to go in a decent dedicated vape shop, as you can see, feel, and get good advice.

Most of the evod types are very similar, but in most cases, its liquid quality that determines vapour over the atomizer, for the most part, I know many that started calling on the cheaper cig looking ones, and simply said vapings crap and went back to cigs.

Variable voltage batteries are better, as depending on what Ohm coils you may have or can get at the time, you can alter the voltage accordingly.

Plus it also depends how you use it for it to do its job, a normal inhale, is fine, but a straight draw to the lungs gives far more vapor and transfers the nicotine so much better, lung draws, tend to not require its use as much.

local shop is 40 mile away , and I hate going into town .

I don';t want tanks /variable batteries etc , just something that works and doesn';t look like darth vaders crack pipe .

Have seen this but not sure if its any good.

Friskle

Being honest, I wouldn';t pay that for those at all.

And to be fair, you don';t need to look like Darth Vader crack pipe to have one that works properly and looks ok,.

A tank of some kind is simply better, once filled, no messing, and most can be filled in no time at all.

I suppose it';s a case of do you want something to do its job properly, or get one that does a half Ar$ed job, then end up spending more or just end up being put off them completely.

Nearly 5 years now, I started with cig types, and ended up buying better.

Aspire box/evod tank = around £7, battery = £12, charger a fiver, then bottle of liquid a fiver, cheaper than your link, will last longer and perform better.

Personal experience the PCC didn';t work for me, not saying it wont work for you.

I started with a standard ego setup (1100mah battery, CE4 and 18mg juice) and it was fine, but I quickly upgraded, mostly to china stuff as it';s dirt cheap.

something like that would be a good start.

I find it a little amusing how much I';ve spent on vape gear over the years and how much I spend now. With my selection of 18xxx batteries, mechanical mod and clone atomisers, I';m still using a bag of cotton and spool of kanthal bought about a year ago

I like the iced mint / menthol and bubblegum flavours and soon changed from a starter kit the a Innoken SVD with aspire nautilus which is awesome, I have also bought other mods but we wont go into that  its gadgets and I';m a sucker for gadgets
I have just received some Propylene Glycol and Glycerol and intend to make some of my own ejuice, flavours ive ordered are bubblegum and fruit salad, only bit left to order is the nicotine  ::)

I had planned to make my own juice, but when I saw the price of nicotine I was slightly put off.
Maybe I need to reassess it sometime

Gaza07

The nicotine is a bit of a rip off but from what ive read its very dangerous to get it any stronger than the diluted 74mg you can get now, Im down to 8mg now and will try some 0mg because that would be very cheap to make  ::)
I have seen the nicotine for about £14 for 100ml 74mg so it should make a few bottles  ~~

I forgot to mention in my orignal post I didnt start vaping to stop smoking I started as an alternative to smoking the wife has also been cigg free for the same time  ~~  :beer2:

£10.49 for 100ml, postage is a bit steep (£5 for any size order) but if you add loads of 0mg base to water it down shipping is free when you hit £30. That should be enough to make loads at 8mg!!!

that';s really good Gaza and a step in the right direction, check the wife oot eh

tried mixing my own juices but they just never quite hit the spot like some of the stuff i';ve bought, there are a few tricks to getting things to taste better or bring out certain flavors etc etc but there is actually quite a lot of experimenting/tweaking to get things just right well the way i wanted them.

though i did have a couple of flavourings that were not to bad mixed straight with no other tweaks.

I tried mixing my own about two years ago, was ok. Like nub says, it';s a lot of tweaking the recipie to get it how you like it. TBH I';ve got enough on my plate with multirotors, and vaping like 1-2ml a day, I';d take a loooong time to realise any meaningful savings

Agree with Nub, tried mixing a few years back, gave up, after I threw over 150ml down the sink, some turned out ok, practically speaking, if your right first time, it can save lots over bought liquids, but when your trying new flavours, the same quantities dont work, due to flavour strength of the concentrates.

For me now, I only use T-Juice, as the flavours are spot on, Celtic liquids and Decandent vapours also very good, red and green absinthe are just superb, if you like aniseed :)

Building coils can save money also, but personally, for me, it was just to much hassle.

All I do now , is stick to Kangertech tanks and thier coils, cant beat them for value and performance, but again it';s an each to thier own thing.

I get mine from Celtic too, they';re just down the road from Mr and their service is great!

Strange, I#m currently vaping a Celtic juice, "Ancients Blood" I think it is...

Karl

Since I was 16 Ive smoked and Im 47 now and most of that time was hand rolled, but last Xmas eve I decided to try the Ecig and Ive never looked back. I like the fact that you can have a couple of drags then put it away, you don';t have to finish that fag. So if we find out both are as bad as each other Im happy that Im smoking less. If that makes sense.

Hi Jonnyw2k

And go Sub Ohm , the difference to standard coils is like night and day, MVP 3.0 and a Kangertech sub Ohm Tank, cant go wrong :)
