I don';t know if any of you have one of these little gems, but I can honestly say it was well worth the £8 odd it cost from Storm_Trade, a favourite ebay trader of mine.

As you can see it';s a pleasingly machined little lump of ally with a few choice holes drilled in the top, and a couple of slots in the front under a clamp.
I';ve just repaired a dodgy Deans connector that I shamefully made a while ago, as the leads were already attached to the hex frame, and so was a little tricky, hence the bad joint!  I was impressed with the way that the device held the plug firmly, and dissipated the high temperatures involved, so once things had been tinned well, it was a simple case of resting the wire onto the tab of the Deans connector, apply the iron for a few seconds (at about 430 degrees) and then add a little solder with my free hand as things start to flow.

It beats my ';helping hands'; which I don';t really find much help for soldering stuff, and so far I have a piece of wood with a few holes drilled in to hold the banana plugs, but it wasn';t ideal.

It';s a 10 out of 10 from me guys, but don';t forget, it';s metal, so only one lipo connection at a time!
