yeah that';s the gps from the suppo osd. Not sure if that';s the best place for it, it';s just where it ended up :-)

Still got a few things to do:

I';d like to see if I can paint the polymorph I used to mount the tx cables. It looks like a bit of a bodge at the moment.

The connections for the escs to the bottom plate are exposed. Sure I read somewhere that people have covered these with hot glue? I might wire up some leds first before I do this.

Need to sort something for the gopro. I want something more secure than an elastic band holding it, plus I don';t like the idea of mounting it without a case or protection of some sort.

Looking good mate.
it';s your fault after seeing yours I had to try and get the insect antenna at the back :-)

Its usually recommended to colour polymorph before use

with what?

I';ve used powdered abs plastic as well as powder pigments in the past and there is a good in the dark powder that a friend used.

However according to the internet you can use food colouring

Good thing about now having the Naza Lite means I can now take photo';s like this  ::)

Marty McFly

Looking really good, need to strip my one down and tidy it up a bit,Marty, :scotland:

dp106

Thanks :-) Have noticed some weird behaviour while flying in manual. When flying forward it was wanting to tip backwards. Seemed fine while hovering just when going forward. :-S

Marty McFly

NOT sure maybe try recalibrateing the IMU,or if you can try the battery in different positions untill it flies o/k Marty, :scotland:

Crappy weather yesterday but desperate to get some flight time in.  Rather windy so not really much good for proximity flying so I thought I';d just try another long range flight.  Managed one successful out to around 700 metres.  Came back and tried another run along by the road.  I was about 650 metres away when as I turned to come back another prop snapped on me!!  :banghead:

It';s my own fault, I had some carbon mix one';s ready to fit but thought one more flight on these would be ok

Interestingly as I was flying in GPS mode the quad came down in a reasonably-ish controlled fashion.  When this sort of thing has happened before when I';ve been in manual mode the quad has invariably flipped before crashing down.

Oooh! What are the Afro esc';s like?

Just looking at changing out the dji';s for either TBS bulletproofs, DYS 40a or Afro';s. Just want to try something with SimonK on it.

dp106

They';re very good. Never used dji ';s so can';t really make a comparison to them. I want to try a 4 cell to see what difference that will make but with this weather not been flying much!

Hi,

Out of interest, could you explain what the set up is on your CofG picture?

Pity about the crash dude, have only ever used shock DJi plastic-issh props and never had a problem with them. I did have a crash after I flew behind a hill and it went into RTH and tried to come home through said hill, out of course I replaced all of the props as I didn';t know what stresses they had been through.
Chuffed you has such an easy fix after a bump  ~~

I can';t claim it was my idea as I saw @bunnygirl80 post it first however I will try and explain..  You basically suspend the quad upside down from its four legs using string or something making sure the 4 lengths are the same.  You then dangle a weight from another piece of string from the same anchor point (I hooked them to the top of a door frame).  When everything has stopped swinging around the suspended weight will indicate where your center of gravity on the quad is.  You can then move the battery around to change it until its correct.

This might be a clearer picture:[attach=1]

Well she seems to be running quite well at the moment

Do not try to run the afro';s on 4s, you get problems with sync i had the same flew brilliant on 3s nice ans crisp on 4s the crap started. M2 tarted a little later it hovvers fine but when you throttle it ip it can';t sync anymore mine crashed to the ground. Try to flash blheli software on them mutch better and smoother and no problems with 4s i myself prefere the dji opto';s no problem at all

I';ve used afro 30A on 4s with mt2216-motors and 9x5 props on my disco for about 30 flights, never had a problem. Used the afros on another build before on 4s, never had a problem there as well. I';m still using the supplied SimonK-firmware.

Sweet! What motors/props/lipos do you use? Have you measured the flight times?
