Evening

I have been trying to find out if its possible to set the fail safe for the Turnigy 9X so that your quad/hex will RTH if in the event it goes out of range or your TX dies.

So far nothing  :cry

Going to try again tomorrow as this is something I would like to have setup and I am sure Brian would too.  IF anyone has come across how to set this up could you post please

Thanks
John

Just so you know, this is a feature of the receiver not the transmitter. Its usually called preset failsafes.

Longnail

Turnigy 9x has 9 channels so dont fly until you have set the multi up correctly with the set up routine, i.e. gps if you have one, attitude and manual.
also a failsafe mode that can be set to "land" or "fly home and land" . All must be done on a comp or you will DIE  :cry

Bless ::)

Den.

Sorry to say that You will need frsky to get failsafe to work with 9x

failsafe is not to do with the tx its rx that deals with  failsafe

Failsafe is set on the computer via the transmitter whilst the naza is plugged in. I never said you use the transmitters onboard failsafe.
The question was can I set up the failsafe with a 9x, this is what you use to set the naza up with through DJI naza assistant.
The answer is YES. It just takes a bit of setting up, done it on a 6 channel, gps, atti, man, failsafe.

homersainty

forced failsafe yes but loss of signal is all down to rx and 9x rx is not capable of forcing falesafe frsky is gona be cheapest option or go for spectrum Installing the FrSky 2.4GHz DIY kit in a HobbyKing Turnigy 9X radio

Hi

So does the Turnigy 9x TX/RX support fail safe when the TX goes out of range or the TX power fails ?

I am not sure how the FS works.  is it not configured and setup on the TX ?   I have an options on the TX.

If what I have does not support FS in this way what do I need to do.

Thanks for your help

Would I need to replace the RX and also the TX module in the back on the TX ?

To be honest Im a bit of a spektrum fan boy so I should be ignored at all times  :whistling:
and i have only hear good reports about the FrSky gear so it is a very good option  ~~

But I would still buy a Spektrum  :nananana: :nananana:

o me to spektrum all the time but if budget is an issue frsky  gets him failsafe at a fraction of the cost

To use tx off failsafe on Spektrum, you need at least an AR7000 receiver. The 6*** range don't do full failsafe.

true but if you shop around a bit you can find some good deals http://www.inwoodmodels.com/product_info.php?cPath=13_99_187&products_id=3671&osCsid=9e3e4e7bad3ff880feeb10c67ae55648
and if you ring inwoods and place a phone order they sell them unboxed (brand new)out of radio sets for like £40

Dx6i pretty cheap on ebay, AR7000 I've had a few off ebay, around the £35 mark.

The spektrum gear might be higher priced but it works very well and it is an investment after all your paying 300 quid for a copter and then trust it to a 60 quid controller  :wack0
