They look a bit like the giantcod ones;

http://www.giantshark.co.uk/shaft-adapter-suit-3175mm-motor-shaft-collet-p-404900.html

My experience is that motors that come with bolt on prop adapters (like the KEDA and SK3 turnigy motors) are a lot more reliable than the collet style.

I wouldn't recommend using an O-ring based prop saver on a quadcopter - i've had one break and i know others have had problems with them too. I think they work quite well on pusher prop driven planes because the prop is driving itself onto the motor but when you use them on a quadcopter 1/4 of the quads weight will be hanging on each O ring, just in the hover and that's only going to get worse when maneuvering.
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
 1 lobe short of an antenna.

yeah they are Giant Cod jobbies.  Just dont seem to grip the shaft much, despite being the correct size. Sodding ****** off to be honest.

My unmanned tech motors have prop adapters that sit on the top of the motor and four small (m2) bolts screw in and hold the threaded shaft on. I threw the stupid spinner cones away after two faliures (they unscrewed in flight) and im now using really fancypants aluminium aerospace locknuts which have not failed me once, not even slipped.

Also bear in mind, these adapters fail most often on the reverse spinning motors, as these are designed to go on planes with a prop going the normal way... ive only ever had unscrewing bits on backwards motors..

Well, a few hours tinkering/rebuilding/cutting new frames, and I'm back in the air...

if I use those cone type adaptors then I tighten them with molegrips or other pipe grip tool.  they get a bit graunched / chewed up but don't come off in flight.
