Had another negative encounter, it's been a few years since the last one, just an uneducated ******, going on about drones being illegal yada yada yada.    :-/
Still that didn't spoil my flying time, had an absolute blast  ~~

iPeaka MultiMate 30A ESCs with SimonK, pre-soldered bullets - $12, any good?

Anyone know if these are any good?

Seem like good value, (slightly cheaper than Afros), but no idea as to the quality. Anyone heard of them / used them? The wording of the description seemed familiar from another ESC, but I can';t remember where I saw it (been browsing all day!).

The hardware is also slightly improved on the Afro ESCs, not just the firmware.

Remembered where I saw the description - the 40A is the same wording as the T Motor ESC on a couple of sites. Doesn';t mean it';s the same ESC of course. What';s improved with the Afro hardware? Heard they were good, just not why...

I wont pretend to understand all the details but regular ESCs are designed for planes. They have power smoothing capacitors and other features that work very well for flying rc planes which aren';t great for multirotors where you want instant throttle response.

With SimonK firmware a lot of these extra smoothing features are turned off.

With the AfroESCs the hardware design leaves out some of these unwanted ';features'; to produce a design that just works a little better.

In theory you';ll notice better stability especially in fast descents where the faster updating ESCs will respond quicker.

They also have a linear BEC which provides 0.5 amps with very little noise. Good enough to power a flight controller without a UBEC if you are running a minimal setup without extras.

I';ll be putting AfroESCs on the next Teslaquad i build.
