Those cyclogiro-rotors look very practical for small spaces the way they are enclosed on all sides.

so rather than a flying blender like a quad, its a flying qualcast lawn mower ;)

in all seriousness, I like it, wonder if we could develop a model of that engine driven by a brushless motor, ... hmm .... new quad idea !!

I wonder if you had 4 fans - one in each corner - could you then use quadcopter style thrust vectoring to increase stability at slow speeds?

This is edf using vector thrust - amazing; it';s been on my must have list for a while,  with my skill level it will probably stay on the list for ever!
