Being new to the naza,  how often should i be re-calibrating the compass before flight.  Assuming you are flying in different areas, should a i be re-calibrating the compass before every flight in a new location less than a few miles apart?

Mudders

I check mine every so often, depending on how much I';m flying, mostly every 2 -3 weeks (say flying twice a week) and especially after any shocks to the system.

I';m still trying to get mine calibrated for it';s first flight. Did you have to degauss yours with a magnet? What value does your Compass have under the Tools section in the software? Mine';s at 388, which seems far to low (recommended 750 < Mod <2250.

THat does seem a bit low.  The crunch comes when u get yellow/red flashing continually, then it won';t go into GPS mode.  If it functions correctly otherwise it';s probably ok, and the various calibration tools are meant to fix it (software fix).  If it is not working
Resetting the Compass of the DJI Phantom (when Calibration fails)
I did this a while ago, fixed it ok.  I must have gotten the thing near a strong magnetic force somehow, unbenowns to me??
Hope it helps

P.S As for the ';Naza dance';, so called, I think technically u only need to do if you change hemisphere';s, but I guess it doesn';t hurt.  If you eventually get the waypoint functionallity hooked up, you can check it';s acuracy on screen, i.e if it';s saying it';s sitting in your neighbour';s swimming pool it probably needs calib.

It';s also a good idea to recalibrate if you change equipment on your airframe. The compass is very sensitive to metal and or high current wires nearby.

That seems to be the value before calibration (My Phantom and New Naza V2 was around that when new). Mow the Phantom is 1750 and Naza V2 at 1550. Have you performed an advanced Cali?
