What are the differences between DJI MiniOSD and OSD Mark2

Hi All,

With trying to keep costs to a minimum on my build on the FPV side, I';ve decided on a DJI Naza V2 M because even though its more expensive its pretty modular and reviews are good, also I will want to connect a DJI OSD module at some point (when funds allow).

The MiniOSD looks a great product, pretty cheap and can plug into the Nava V2 AP. Then I saw the Mark 2, which seems a lot bigger (maybe heavier, I will be getting a quad). But the FPV display looks the same, so why is the Mark 2 that much more expensive?

All I can see is that it has a CanBus port for say adding a Bluetooth DJI TX module in it.

Does any members have either of these? Would appreciate the differences explained  :help:

Many thanks

Nick

You will need the GPS as part of the Naza V2 because the miniOSD uses it, I have that set-up and it ticks all the boxes. I go out into the wilds of Wales and it gives me all the info I need to get my quad home to me with out being to busy a display, just plug and play.

Thanks for the info mate. Leaning towards the MiniOSD now

Forgot to say that it cost £38 and as said in my other post it';s just plug and play. You can get some really good OSD but they need a GPS so the weight goes up and the flying time comes down, have not tried the "full fat" naza OSD Mk2 but it';s a lot more money and I have all the info I need on the miniOSD  for my Disco.

Thanks for the info mutley. Yes, I';ve seen the same MiniOSD on Ebay and will defo go for that one. Being PnP is a big bonus.

I';m in the same boat, have a look here, under the iOSD picture is another picture of a chart which shows ones features over the others.

Yes, I did have an iOSD mk 1, info on screen wise it';s no real difference, you';d only need the full size v2 if you needed plug and play support for the zen muse gimbal camera output, which it has (not on mini).  It also has a spare can-bus connector, but you';re unlikely to need that on Naza!
Hope it helsp mate.

Thanks FPW, that helps a lot. The miniOSD seems pretty cheap now also, Bonus

  • Mini OSD has one Canbus Port, iOSD has two
  • Mini OSD has no logging, iOSD has logging
  • Mini OSD has one video in port, iOSD has two and an RC input for controlling the channel.
  • Mini OSD is half the size of iOSD
  • iOSD can control the channels on the DJI Video TX, Mini OSD Cant
There are some differences in the display.. but small..
