hi everybody ...
I use and love APM but fancy trying  this board on a small fpv quad .

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__42250__MINI_MWC_Flight_Control_Board_and_DSM2_Receiver_ACC_GYRO_BARO_MAG.html

Just wondering how easy it should be learn ?
Like I already said I use and find the APM pretty easy to setup and use ..

Any advise welcome

cheers darren

kilby

It has a cousin for those who want to build micro quads (with brushed motors)

I have heard a few complaints about the hobbyking multiwii boards, but then again they have been from very inexperienced users so I don';t really know how good they really are.
Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

u should find the multiwii stuff pretty straight forward to setup and tune then.

i like my nanowii board flies and feels really nice.

as for HK and quality well hmmm pot luck i suppose.
Point and click.

hi thanks for reply .
I have had a quick look at the gui and seems understandable  :crossfingers:
"touch wood" I have had no problems with HK  , but where did you get your board ?
cheers

I';ve got a V1.0 standard board you can have if you wanted to try and have a play with Arduino and GUI before getting stuck in to the full list of benefits of the board you r looking at. The GUI is straight forward but the APM setup is easy using Mission planner. With multiwii you use the Arduino software to flash the firmware and comment/uncomment the bits you want and then the GUI to configue the PIDs. Chat is a great help loads of folk on there that can help, live, to be honest...you shpouldn';t have any problems coming from APM, I went the other way...KK2.0 to Multiwii to APM.
Good luck, let me know about the board and PM me your address.
Phil.

Hey Darren - I came up the other way (oooh errr mrs) from KK2, to MultiWii (HK E385 and HK MultiWii Pro 2) and on to APM 2.5.  I have to say that they are very capable boards, when they work - I';m sure my E385 is a bit iffy.  The MultiWiiGui app is a doddle to use, similar in many ways to Mission Planner for the APM in many respects.  All you may have to get your head around is Arduino IDE to edit and configure the bits of the config.h file that set up many of the more static parameters of the FC itself.

I reckon if you can do APM then you';ll easily make the leap to MultiWii.

Multiwii is an easier fit for a small multirotor designed for fun and stunt flying. The gyro only mode is particularly good for acro flying once properly tuned.

Auto-level and GPS modes are nowhere near as good and it doesn';t do waypoints.
