My best flight to date!

Thought I';d share this. After messing about for ages with this configuration, finally got the latest 1.6++ firmware that allows 3 flight modes. Now, I';m much more confident and my 450 flies really well.

However, setup plays a very big part.

In the interest of safety you might want to keep your videographer beside you rather than the other side of your quad, as you currently have to try and keep a safe distance from two opposing spots, rather than just one, i.e. if you fly away from yourself, you';re flying towards your daughter and whoever else was there (I think I heard you trying to direct someone else out of harms way).

Also you might consider flying your circuits in front of you, rather than in circles around you, as things can appear in your flight path unexpectedly, especially when part of it is behind you - you';ll only know there';s an obstruction when you turn around to fly there...

Good work though. Have to say I';ve been very pleased with 1.6++ since I upgraded a few weeks back.

OK, you';ve convinced me - I';m going to plant my KK2 in the Teslaquad.  But before I do I';ll put the 1.6++ firmware on.  But which version?

There seem to be three versions, 1.6++, 1.6++ CPPM and 1.6++ S.Bus.  Obviously I won';t be using S.Bus but which of CPPM or just vanilla 1.6++ is the right one (Spektrum RX).

Just use r1 of 1.6++, set one up Friday with it and it';s really good but bear in mind that all of your settings will be wiped out and you will have to recalibrate esc';s (which is dead easy now, no need for tx to be on, have a look at the release notes). Absolutely superb, very stable in stable mode, acro mode a bit tame but a safe starting point).

That';s the right thread, it';s on my KK2 now just trying to make my mind up between the V tail (which is an unknown quantity to me) or my Tarot Firefly I had off Fruitsalad, atm I';m thinking of playing it safe!
Can';t wait to have a go at acro flying, had great fun in very blustery conditions today!!@

Yeah, I want to try the KK2 again now that I';ve honed up the skills a little bit  ::)  Thinking the Teslaquad is probably the one that I can accept an accident with more than the pair of 450s.  Or maybe, I was thinking, put the KK2 into the wooden scratch build.

Hey guys,

My mate Mark has built himself a V-tail Quad where he has 1 motor going clockwise an the other 3 counter! Work that one out!

I';ve hovered it and it works!

The latest version that gives you 3 flight settings of Acro, SL-moderate and SL High is just the dogs!

My vid is with SL High. Still gives lots of authority with the comfort of a good working SL!

Can I ask where you got those landing skids from? I fly a Flamewheel quad and an Alien quad - desparately need a decent set of skids for each but have had no real luck so far. Those on your quad look just what I';m after.

They Align 500/600 skids? Look very similar to mine!
