Disconnecting Power from ESCs?

I';m running my Crius AIOP V2 from a seperate BEC and have removed the jumper to enable external power.

I found that without the power line from the ESCs that Sonar didn';t work as there wasn';t power to that bank then.

The question is should I only attach one or is having them all attached OK? It';s more convenient as I';m using a Servo tester to run up the motors for balancing, etc (I was getting tired of having to re-arm everytime I took too long adjusting the tape)?
