FPV Flight in Milton keynes England with an interesing ending
It might not seem bad but bare in mind i'm effectively blindfolded
Do you take the video googles off and risk crashing while you locate the quad in the sky or keep them on and brave it???

Haha, at first I couldnt tell why you were panicing. Cows are quite inquisitive, but would be terrifying if one just nudged you or something. This is why GPS hold is good, you can flick it on, take the goggles off and see whats going on.

You gotta come to our meetup on sunday, id love to see your setup. The area ive picked has some nice scenic ****** you can fly over. Will be there from about 2.

Thought the same when I watched that.  Its only a cow.  Didn't realise he was next to you until you started to land..  Thats funny.

What did you FPV setup cost ?  What the resolution on your googles
New to Quads but loving it

haha, love it.

Worst I've had is a dog run up to me on the beach and start sniffing my balls, whilst my Vega was out around the 2km range...papped myself, as I could hear the owner a long way away shouting at the dog who wasn't taking any notice...

Out of interest, is that one of the Hobbyking pre-made 5.8ghz antennas with the plastic shell/casing?  How is the performance? Any good? Was thinking of buying a set.

I bought the Set

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20672__Fat_Shark_Predator_RTF_FPV_Headset_System_w_Camera_and_5_8G_TX.html

I have replaced the antennas with spironets

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27750__5_8GHz_Circular_Polarized_spiroNet_Antenna.html

and upgraded the 100mw tx to 600mw

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17507__ImmersionRC_5_8Ghz_Audio_Video_Transmitter_FatShark_compatible_600mw_.html

The standard setup was "ok" out of the box and got me flying fpv but i can now go alot futher with no drop out in video feet at all.

I'm more than happy with this set-up for shot to medium range but haven't pushed it yet as i dont have the naza gps yet for return to home.

yeah, it was the spironets I'm interested in...wonder what sort of range they are good for.

With my 600mw 6.8 I've had 2.3km using a patch antenna directly on my goggs.

This is probably been the futhest i've been. still rock solid but lost my nerve with no GPS return to home.
skip to 5 minutes 17. i've also got no osd so i cant judge the distants to well. I'm sure i could have went quite a bit further
