What's the best Quad UAV to buy please?

Hi,

Am looking to update my old UAV which is basically knackered etc, so many crashes (no GPS or decent AP etc). Have around £1300 to spent, ideally an RTF solution.

I';ve been looking at the TBS Discovery Pro, but it seems its only in kit form (the gimbals take a long time to put together) and a few companies have yet to combe back to be on a RTF model.

Would the standard TBS discovery be okay? Can I use a 2 axis gimbal?

Also, I heard a lot of good things on the Tarot T650 carbon quad frame, does anyone have any opinions?

Finally I';m going to get into FPV. I know the current law in the UK is a max of 25mW on the TX, with the spiro antennas, what sort of LoS range do you think I got get at 5.8Ghz?

Of course we all obey the law, but if I went to 100mw (or even 250mW like the kit with the fatshark) would I cause problems to the locals, radio hams etc?

Cheers

Nick

You would be amazed how quickly lots of small purchases add up.

Sorry, see what you were trying to do with those smilies there.  :azn

Unusually for me, I actually have tracked every last purchase; but I hadn';t ever converted it all to £s and added it up until recently. Despite my earnest attempts at frugality along the way, when I finally did, I nearly fell off my chair! Could have bought a pro rig!
