Flight near (but not too near!) the Caton Windmills in Lancashire

I managed to take my FPV hexacopter somewhere new for a change - a small valley on top of a hill near the Caton windmills. Condtions were good and visibility was excellent at around 7pm in the evening. I have not flown at this flying site before but intend to return - maybe next time i will be more adventerous and try flying through the trees as well.

I did manage to take 2250mAh out of a 2200mAh battery though  :o I haven';t quite got the powermeter reading accurately yet.

I was flying the new fibreglass hex, one of it';s first proper outings, but there is no real difference between this and the plywood version. Possibly the frame is a little stiffer and it does seem a little more responsive but i could be imagining that.

And a picture of the black FPV hex now it';s done;

Lovely location, I want to see more dambusters style flying in the next one  ::)

Did you get must signal breakup while flying in the ';gully'; ?

Nice, great surroundings only one thing - wish you wouldn';t do the whirly bits, only just had my tea!!!

I was a bit worried about that on 5.8ghz but i was standing close to the edge so there wasn';t too much ground in between me and the quad. It was totally flyable at all times and i only got a little bit of static when i was down low and behind that small tree.

Superb vid Chris. Keep them coming! Sooo nice to see you flying somewhere other than the asylum field, but shame about the battery!

Note to self : Need to get that battery monitor sorted!  :smiley:
Always smile because you never know who could be falling in love with it. :) Drone Operator in North Wales. www.aerialworx.co.uk
