Found this on a Facebook link on my page. At first I was " wow, thats cool" but then on reflection, some of the sequences could have gone horribly wrong.  Is this, perhaps, why there is negative legislation being enacted in the USA?  And perhaps why we should be quite careful of what we do in the UK for fear of similar regulation.  Although our own CAA regulations, when adhered to, would likely give the RC pilot some food for thought before flying such sequences.

Thoughts?

Quite agree, very nice sequences but in places times where third parties safety was ignored in the interests of a good video. It';s easy to see why legislation is introduced to discourage this sort of thing and it would be a shame to see this happening in the UK,  so basically it';s up to us to make sure it';s not necessary!

Some great flying in there, but flew over people a few times - always a no, no, no consideration for those he was filming.  I gasped when he flew over the finishing line about halfway through, really thought he was going to catch it and come down on the runners. Also no sign of a spotter at the end.

I wouldn';t want to fly a full sized quad anywhere near as close to crowds of people as that guy did.

He';s obviously a good pilot - things could still go wrong for him though.
