Hi

Looking to replace my prop holders as they dont feel they are the greatest.

I am using a spacer and they don't fit snug, plus I keep tightening them up.

Any suggestions  :)

Thanks

Hi John I use these prop adapters from Giant Shark I always buy a few extra though as with them being cheap you can find the odd wobbly new one  ~~

The split collet type will always be superior to the grub screw variety. They grip the shaft over the entire length they cover providing drive and superior mechanical fixing. Just make sure your spacer fits the shaft and the prop centralizing it securely. Do not over tighten it as they are just aluminum and you will stretch the thread or strip them. Just a nip is sufficient and if your worried about them coming loose either use a locknut or a nylock nut.

Sorry Gary I have to disagree on that, it's my engineering background and years of working with collet systems in cnc bending machines.

I also have an engineering back ground and know collets are a good choice, ive used a lot of collet chucks and they run very true but they are precision ground and made to a very high standard unlike the mass produced ali prop adapters, I have had quite a few collet types let go but never had a grub screw one do the same, its just personal choice I suppose, both types rely on the hole being drilled on the centre and the right size  ~~

You don't get the red spinner on them though they come all silver they are the type I have,
Teslahed had some that looked like the red ones with a spinner but had the collet type base like on the others   ~~

you also have to make sure you bye them with the right size shaft the bigger 6mm shaft is better but only if it will fit through your prop  ~~
