Disco balancing

Having acquired disco top and bottom plates, I';ve now built a TBS disco, now having given it its maiden flight, a couple of things strike me as strange with the design, mainly balance, hanging the battery so far out the back means that the Cog is way off from centre, OK I';m not running a full fpv setup or a go pro on the front, but I didn';t think go pros were that heavy? For now I have removed the pin headers (again the placement seems strange pushing everything over the tail) and moved the battery over the cog and flight is well balanced and going well.

The Naza FC seems to handle the off centre cog with no issues.

Open to suggestions and if possible pictures of setups showing the cog?

Thanks,

Callum

im currently in the same situation, just built mine with no fpv gear

i added weight to the front and it did help balance the quad, i guess with a vtx, go pro and fpv cam up near the front it balances out just fine

i have all my fpv gear ordered but just waiting for it to get here, plus if like me i will also be using a 2s lipo to power it.

I found this.

I have a similar frame and I put the battery on top so I could move it back and forth. I hold it on both sides by the flight controller and move the battery until it is balanced.

Been flying mine with the marked CofG and it flys a treat, had mine a little nose heavy to start with and it would rock badly on a hard decent.

Have spoken to a few people today about their setups, and taking into account what others have put on this thread (thank you), have moved the battery on to the top so i can play with the balance it now seems to be flying as expected, front and rear motors/esc';s are getting up to around the same temp so nothing is being overworked.

Just now need to save my pennies and get my FPV stuff sorted! (then re-balance the thing again)

Thanks,

Callum
