Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

Poor guy, a grim reminder to respect these machines we build, they all have potential to cause serious harm.
I reverse polarities for fun.

Terrible shame ..

Check out the guy at 1:38 with the blades in his face,, then same guy at 1:51 saying about whirling blades are dangerous.   :banghead:

Poor kid, but it';s his family I pity most, they';ve got to live with it now especially his father who obviously encouraged him with the hobby.
It was one of the biggest things that put me off flying Choppers (very apt nickname), when you think about it you';ve got something like 2 samurai swords whirling round at very high rpm, much faster than a master samurai swordsman could move them - if that';s not dangerous god knows what is.

teslahed

Very sad - although i must admit being slightly relieved it';s not a member of the public.

I wonder how close he was standing? I see some of these rc Heli pilots flying much closer to themselves than i would ever dare in these videos.
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Toledodave

The video states it was a mechanical malfunction not pilot error. Either way it just proves even the most experianced can be still injured therefore anybody at anytime should treat their copter like a loaded weapon and always be aware. RiP

How utterly tragic.  Unimaginably so. Condolences to his family.

"Wayne Roberts" demonstrating the rotors spinning for the cameras - unbelievable negligence in my opinion.

Considering the damage that carbon fibre props on our multi-rotor UAVs can cause I can speculate what a 2ft x 2 helicopter blade would do - I';ve used battle-ready Samurai swords on specific targets and wouldn';t want to be struck with either!
