Hey guys, I';ve a bit of an issue when flying my TBS discorvery, on desent it rocks back and forth when I pull the throtle back to loose height quickly. I';ve not touched the stock gains on the Naza V2 GPS so I was wondering what gains you guys are/would run on a
920Kv motors
10" x 3.8 prop
Naza V2 GPS
3s1p 5000mah lipo (should I be running 4s???)
Any help or advice would be great.
(Just noticed I';ve put this post in the non TBS section, could an admin move it please ;-)

Mine does exactly the same. But im running APM!?

Strange shaped frames, such as the TBS have a huge amount of wind resistance when falling out of the sky and when accelerating upwards - my TBS pitches backwards slightly when giving it WOT, but during normal throttle openings it is fine.

One of the ways to counter this rocking is to up your D parameter (this effectively makes the quad feel ';slow'; and treacle like), however, it ';should'; stop this rocking that you see. However, the trade off is it will affect how it flies in general.

I never really rely on falling out of the sky to get my quadcopter back to earth - you need to put your copter upside down and then flip it the right way up just before you get to terra firma!

The instability on descent is usually put down to prop wash. You are basically going into very turbulent air, hence the wobble. Popular resolution is to try to descend with a little forward motion, keeps your quad in clearer air!

It';s very similar to the effect if you try to hover a foot or so off the ground, especially after take-off. 6ft up and it';s fine.  ~~

Cheers guys, I think a lot of it is down to my heli flying and being able to just bang it straight down to the deck, quads are a totally different kettle of fish and I need to reflect that in my flying style. As said in my post all of the stock settings on my Naza V2 are at 100% and I know you guys tweek them and was wondering what a good ball park figure would be. I have noticed that if you are in FFF you can be a little more aggressive in your decent, any gain settings you run would be a helpful  to start tweeking it in the right direction, many thanks ;-)
