Boxes to store stuff

I do like to keep the relevant stuff in a suitable box if possible and with this hobby I';ve rapidly discovered that one needs a lot of storage!  But the Mrs didn';t take too kindly to me taking over the dining room floor and so I picked up a couple of these from Wilkinsons (a cheap supermarket chain).

The boxes are made by Stanley and cost £10 and £12 (I bought these over a period of months during which the price went up).  And they are outstanding value in my opinion.

The bottom part, black, is a cavernous storage space. The top part, yellow, is a multi-compartment (adjustable) tray about 3cm deep, great for the smaller bits and pieces.

The bottom box is my "Build" kit and contains all the bits and pieces I typically need when constructing.  The top box is my "Flight" kit containing everything that I would typically need to take into the field with me, including some spares and repair materials.

Wilkinsons also sell some smaller boxes of similar construction but different manufacturer. I';m going to have to pick up a few of those for the Hubsan, GoPro kit, and something for all the props that I seem to have accumulated now that I don';t crash anywhere near as much (he said tempting fate!)

Funny you should ask! I got a set of these ages ago in Maplins, and finally put all the stuff that was scattered around in them yesterday:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/really-useful-storage-boxes-48173

They';re really tough (there';s a picture of a car with one under each wheel!), the lids clip closed to keep the dust out, and being clear you can see what in them. The come nested, but look like they';d stack on top of each other, given either two the same size, or two smaller ones on one bigger one.

Wish I';d picked up a second set!
