Here a link to a really good project that some may find useful .

The freaky coincidences continue! Here';s a video I juts watched on building DIY retracts (demo at the end, rewind for build instructions):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRSPFYlKo58&feature=player_embedded#t=1051

As I watched that I was thinking "that wants to be triggered by range sense". Two minutes later pop by here to see what';s new, and here';s this. Mad!  :wack0

Both  Impressive.
Nice if a board ready progd was available with a decent DIY  leaflet for non computer programming types! impressive.
~~
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

yes agree , I do use the APM and also mess about ardunio but would be good to buy a small plug& play board .

I think there may be a difficulty with that if you use ultrasonic range sense for both this and flight control, as the two could interfere. A standalone board would be good, but the flight controller operating it on range sense might be better?

There';s no reason why u couldn';t just modify apm to do it.  Even contribute it to the public code base.  No point in adding another board if u don';t need to

I would be really scared to mess with the APM to that extent .
But would trust myself with a mini board (what a coward ) .
