Anyone every tried aerial relaying video for FPV ?

I was thinking: for quad flying we fly low, and it would be cool to be able to fly in areas with lots of obstacles (abandoned buildings, hills, etc).

If you had another quad (or fixed wing circling) above that quad - you could have it receive the video from it, and rebroadcast it on different frequency.

Since you';d always be LOS with that high quad - you will get uninterupted footage from your low quad.

I';ve not done this inside the UK (ahem) but I built a relay station for use on an expedition that used a 1.2Ghz long range link for the Aircraft -> Relay Station, and then a 5.8Ghz link from the relay station to the ground station.

The relay station was stationary in this case (top of a tree), but I see no reason why it couldn';t have been orbiting overhead.

The spiritual home of fpv large
Keep it emax, capiche?
Hardware? sure, I got hardware!

Nothing to build.  All you';d need is 2 sets of TX and RX. Job done.  It would also double your range.
