Damaged LiPo wire

My last crash ripped one of the cell balancing wires out from under the wrapping/heatshrink of my 5A 3s. I think it was developing a lazy cell but still gives me good flight time so I';m loathed to retire it yet. Can anything be done or should it go in the recycle bin?

If you';re very careful you can, you need to strip back the least amount of shrink as possible to get at where the wire came from and then re-solder it. I';ve got one to do myself on  1500mah zippy that  came off first time I had used it. When you have soldered it back you can either repair the shrink with some electrical tape or put some new shrink on it.

It';s what I';ll likely end up doing, cheers.

If possible do the work outdoors. If it all goes horribly wrong the lipo could go up in flames. If you have to do it indoors a bucket of water and a wet towel on standby might be a good plan.

I have resoldered balance leads onto a lipo before and it worked fine afterwards. I was VERY careful not to short circuit any solder points with the iron or anything else when i was doing this though.

Do you really want to lose your model or cause an accident?..
If its not functioning properly or damaged....Ditch it.

You know it makes sense.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

After peeling back several layers of who-knpws-what different materials, I still haven';t found the wire break so I won';t be using this battery again.
