I needed some new batteries for my quad, since I only had one left after that nasty crash. I found on the HK euro warehouse Turnigy 5000mah hardcase batteries.

At first I was worried about two things, first of all, they would be really heavy. Secondly I worried that as they were in a hard case, I wouldn't know if the cells were puffing. Then I thought what you don't know cant hurt you and I now see not knowing one sell is a big gassy as a good thing.

They are pretty cheap, 30something dollars each, I got six of them. Will let you know how I get on, they are 20-30c so loads of current and they are not much heavier than my loongmax i had before, only 6g heaver at 526 or so g.

Could I borrow that lot to start my truck??

What are they going in? good price.

Its called DroneyWoney1, and now has the Naza GPS. By coincidence these hard case batteries fit really neatly under the top plate with the iris shaped cutout on. Need some beefy elastic bands to hold them still and will make a parallel power cable so I can use one battery if I need to by removing the power cable.

All my soldering stuff is packed away at the moment though and I cant be arsed to get it out.

Was on location yesterday fitting one of my control systems to a underwater camera. Not very often you get to solder by the side of a swimming pool lol.

22 quid each, I spent about 140 quid on those six batteries delivered. Delivery took about three days from Hamburg

They fit nicely and the bands hold them in well too. Only problem is, the entire craft is now at 3.3kg which is heavier than id like.

Gaza07

Ooh that sounds heavy dont forget to video the flight  ~~

Just a suggestion when you post pics if you use the inline expandable thumb nail option it puts a small pic in your post that when clicked expands in the forum viewer which allows you to scroll through multiple pictures too  ~~
I only mention coz on mt shed pc with the small monitor your pics are huge to me  :whistling:

Gaza07

I have made and expandable image to show how, it will allow a max of 20 pictures per post, you will see the attach=x appear in the reply window as soon as you select Inline expandable thumb nail  ;)

Today I took the quad out with these new batteries. Im gonna use them in pairs, as it has no trouble flying with both on there and the battery life is about 10-15mins.

As I am using them in pairs, I need to make sure I dont pick up a discharged battery and use it with a charged one, so for safeties sake, I wanna make sure I always use them in their pairs. I was gonna number then, but sometimes I have issues with stuff like that. You have a mix of batteries some are charged and some arnt, its hard to remember which ones are what. The solution, for me atleast, was give them silly names. Its much easier to remember I just charged ermintrude and dougal, and I have just finished flying with Marge and Homer.

Gaza07

Thats actually quite a clever way of pairing things because as you say numbers might not always work  ~~

What about inline expandable thumb nails
