Collision avoidance?

When flying with friends, we always agree a collision avoidance strategy before we start, one will usually go full throttle and left, the other will reduce throttle and also left (usually the copters will be facing each other). We have had a couple of near misses and having an agreed strategy before we started has stopped a near miss becoming a disaster.

Does anybody else have a collision avoidance strategy?

I do. It';s called having no friends and flying by yourself :wack0

The depressing truth Biffa  :cry

I think the system you mention is probably your best bet. If you';re flying with others in close proximity you';re always going to run the risk of a collision, all you can really do is be extra aware of others and your surroundings to be able to preempt any accidents occurring!

Having said that, I';m sure it would make for some good video!  :frantic:
I reverse polarities for fun.

Having had a go at Slope combat it';s harder to hit another model when you';re trying to than by accident, so if it looks like it might happen it';s a good idea to have an agreed strategy!

fruitsalad

me n my flying buddy normally do me up and he down..
apart from homemade epp combat flying, norm cant hit each other for trying..
dont grow up,just buy bigger toys!!!!

The one good thing about flying in the ';club of one'; is there are no stupid rules ;)

Totally agree with you there, club flying has really hindered my progress to get my fixed wing A test - not allowed to fly on my own without a B test holder next to me, it';s a right pita - since I have been flying my quad on my own things have come on in leaps and bounds.
Thing is that I can fly ok, been flying 3D foamies slope soarers and all sorts but have never found it easy to fly stupid circuits, just found it all too boring so never practiced it, so once I have got my A test club flying may no longer continue!
