ImmersionRC 600mw powering Gopro 3

Hey guys, just wondering if there was any reason why I can';t power my gopro 3 off  the 5v output from the VTX, I';m fairly sure this is what its for but just in case I';m wrong I don';t want to stuff my new Gopro and VTX. Looks too good to be true so I';m asking if there were any other people doing this.  ~~

Yep it';s possible with this type of cable. You need to ensure that the voltage is regulated to 5v, you don';t want any spikes or the excess voltage from a 2s (7.4v) going into your expensive GoPro.
I reverse polarities for fun.

Sorry I actually included the wrong link there (although it';s relevant it';s not exactly what you';re after) - I';d misread what you wanted to do and assumed you didn';t have a way of regulating the current.

The ImmersionRC 600mw vtx does give a steady 5v so no need to worry about the voltage being too high for the GoPro, all you need is a cable such as this: http://chargeconverter.com/blog/?p=154

Thanks for that, yep I';ve got a cable and it was supposed to have a 3A bec with it but only the cable turned up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEFNERS-GoPro-HERO-3-USB-to-AV-Out-With-Power-In-for-FPV-/171092396885?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&var=&hash=item27d5e6cb55, that';s when I started looking at the ImmersionRc and noticed the 5V out put. Will hook that up tomorrow and have a play, many thanks for the reply.
