Landing Gear Advice - DJI 450 Quad - for GOPRO use

Bought a cheap plastic universal landing frame from ebay for my 450.  It lasted one flight, came down from about 2 metres onto grass, wasn';t too heavy but the plastic frame cracked.

I';m wanting something stronger like carbon fibre, found this one on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281148567087?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

does anyone have experience of a good strong frame so that I can mount my GOPRO underneath, for less than £50 ?

Thanks
Raymond

I bought the aluminium version of those from Vario-Helicopters from ebay, made by Tarot.  They';re currently on an F550 and slightly modified - I swapped out the ali for some longer carbon tubes - https://www.dropbox.com/sc/4ksve9v0lh6o0bg/DiZkPNFyzx

I really like them.  Well made and reasonably adjustable, you can easily swap out all the tubing for longer/shorter pieces as needed.  Far nicer than the other plastic ones we bought of ebay for comparison.  The plan is eventually to convert them to be retractable.

The only ';negative'; as such is that there is no way to mount the GoPro directly to them.  I just made up a plate that screws to the F550 baseplate.

thanks for the info, I currently have my GoPRO stuck onto the bottom plate of my 450 using a standard GoPRO 3M sticky pad - but ideally I';ll make some sort of mount later on.

Can';t seem to find anything better that this sort of price point, so might just go for it.

Cheers
Raymond

Hi Raymond

I bought one of thes off eBay on a recommendation from a club member with DJI 450 & 550. They';re quite solidly built but haven';t tried it myself yet.

I';ve recently got my second frame flying, Tarot 680, for AP. Used to have legs, gimbal and goPro on my f450. Taken all the excess kit off the 450 and it';s like a dog let off the lead! Never really got the Naza or the gimbal how I liked it. The bigger frame is far better (so far) as a camera platform. I';ve seen some great video from 450 size platforms so it can be done, just not by me!
