My 450 clone is rock stable without the legs fitted, however with then on its mega unstable and almost tries to flip over?

initially I thought it was carrying two batteries, both were strapped on saddle bag style one either side so everything was centred around the CofG, so i';m at a bit of a loss as to why?

Any ideas guys?

I flew my 450 clone for the first time with landing gear tonight and it didn';t go too well, wanted to topple over easily.  it was much more stable without landing gear, but I';m wanting to fix a GOPRO to the underside, so taller legs are required.  lots of adjusting trim was required and managed to get it taking off sort of level, but not as easy as without the landing gear.  I snapped my cheap plastic frame and have just ordered up a stronger carbon frame, hopefully that will be better.

I';ll just need to stick with it, I';m flying in manual using a cheap flight controller so I don';t have any assist modes at the moment until I order up my Nazza M next month.

Make sure your battery are secure in the centre of the frame, and tweak your trims as you begin to take off.

My reply to a similar thread:
I';ve recently got my second frame flying, Tarot 680, for AP. Used to have legs, gimbal and goPro on my f450. Taken all the excess kit off the 450 and it';s like a dog let off the lead! Never really got the Naza or the gimbal how I liked it. The bigger frame is far better (so far) as a camera platform. I';ve seen some great video from 450 size platforms so it can be done, just not by me!
Didn';t have problem with take-off stability but could never get satisfactory results with general flying stability with legs and gimbal!

Bit of an update:
I';ve refitted the legs and decided that previously they were not sat evenly on the bottom plate, I';ve got them much more central now and whilst its not as stable as without legs, its not horrendous either!

Its a lot more bouncy on landing though, with the propensity to topple over much more easily!
So I';ve been practicing very gentle landings !

The height of the legs makes it sensitive to any forward (or any other direction) movement when touching down. I';ve trimmed plenty of grass stems as the 450 toppled over because of a drift!
