Just got email and ordered. The long awaiting HK tri frame is in stock. Per email only 75 left get them while they are hot.

I just go the email from Hobby King. Never saw it before so I guess this is a new batch. Did you receive yours and build it? It';s a very tempting frame by all accounts!

Looks ok but to complicated that yaw hanging out the back is asking for trouble, I used to build like that but its to easy to damage, all my tris have the yaw on the top of the frame so the only thing that hits anything is the rear arm. haven';t broke one in ages. To expensive as well none of my frames cost any more than a tenner to build, fold and are almost unbreakable (been in enough trees etc to prove that LOL)  Tony

HI M8 i would love to see some pics of your tricopters I';ve been thinking about building 1 for a while...you know to try them out but a bit unsure where to start and if you have perfected a good running frame please share allways nice to get a recommended model than to shoot in the dark

Jimbodiddly

I looked at the Talon v1 a few months ago and was really tempted, the biggest challenge is to get everything mounted in-between the 2 plates tidy.

Gotta congratulate you on your neat servo mount Tony, nice.  I always thought about building the RC Explorer tri plan, but was put off by the fiddly tail servo malarky.

Thats why I did mine like this

I didn';t like the direct drive yaw mechanism, its asking for trouble in a crash, I prefer a sacrificial link between the servo and the pivot.

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Agree with you there, you do need a sacrificial link, direct drive is nice but too open to damage!

I had this frame for a while.

Was really good, did some small mods to the tail though like you should get some thrust bearings on there and a longer bolt, really helps it.

The servo was nicely encased too and the you always had the servo link that could pop off it did crash.

I sold it in the end as I need parts after a crash and i had it sat around for ages doing nothing. :(

(Suffered a broken arm and a bent motor plate everything ells was fine.)

Its a great frame ive had one for a while, best to do the losi ball link mod on the servo if you can, there so much better than the standard weak links.

I do belive they now have thrust bearings included in the kit.

Heres mine flying with a brushless gimbal
